A few minutes later, cops came out of the gate to clear the driveway so a convoy of SUVs could leave. By 8:05pm the majority of the protesters were on the sidewalk. At 8:20pm, a memorial was set up with candles, photos, and balloons. Squeaky plastic pigs were handed out to the crowd.

There were two more LRAD warnings at 9:57pm and 10:25pm. Five minutes after the second warning, Portland Police Bureau (PPB) officers rolled up in a van and on bikes to take the intersection in front of the ICE building. They left at 10:45pm.

Protesters moved back up the driveway to the gate after the PPB left. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officers came out, largely unarmed, pushed them back onto the sidewalk to clear a path for vehicles to leave, then retreated back behind the gate. Protesters re-entered the driveway to follow them.

Around 11:00pm, a CBP Special Response team came out of a sidedoor to surround protesters who had set up a shield wall in front of the gate. Several arrests were made.

The PPB made another appearance later that night, briefly retaking the intersection, apparently raiding an encampment around the block, and possibly making another arrest.
